Today was the First Grade Track Meet. Emma, Lexie, Olivia and Bri came out to cheer them on.
Marcus ran the 200 meters. He ran his first heat race and beat everyone by a landslide.
These are his friends Kupono, Javin and Gus.
The girls entertained us in between races.
Since Marcus placed first in his heat, he got to race in the finals.

They were neck in neck the entire race.
They crossed the finish line at the same time...it was so close I couldn't really tell who won. Marcus made a dramatic finish by falling at the end...I think he was trying to slide in to get the last minute win. I was so proud. Javin and Marcus are great for each other. It was a fun race to watch. The weather turned bad so that was the end of the meet...they have to do their field events another time. Great Job Marcus!
