Kindergarten Track Meet

Today was the Kindergarten Track Meet.  Marc has Fridays off so he got to go with Marcus.  I was bummed because track was my best sport growing up so I was sad to miss this.

Here's Olivia waiting for her instructions.

Emma surrounded by her friends.  A side note to this...the little boy in the blue shirt is Jacob.  Apparently Jacob has a huge crush on Emma.  During the Mom's Day breakfast I noticed he kept running up to her and hugging her...she just said "Jacob Loves Me!"  Marc met his parents today and they said all Jacob talks about is our little Emma.  Marc said he watched every move Emma made.  Too funny!

The girls ran a whole lap around the track.  When they called Emma's name she gave her Daddy a hug and he said "You're going to win, right Emma?"  She smiled and said "Yes!"...and that's exactly what she did.  Marc said the moment they said go, Emma was off and never looked back.  Olivia is behind her in this picture.  She never got closer than that.  Emma won by a long shot!  Marc said at the end he shouted at her that everyone was catching her and she put her head down and ran even faster.  She's got quite the competitive streak in her.  That's my little sprinter!

Marc said Olivia could have given Emma more of a challenge but was too concerned about her friends behind her.  She kept waiting for them to catch up and running with them.  Look at that form though!  I still think she's my long distance girl.  Both girls did very well and made their Daddy and brother proud.

Emma came home with a First Place blue ribbon.  Olivia came home with a Second Place red ribbon.  They were very excited about their ribbons.  I even brought out my memory book and showed them my ribbons from my elementary track meets.  They were very excited to know they were just like their Mommy...I was pretty proud too.

Their next event was a jumping event.  Here they are standing in line.

Marc said Olivia did very well in the jumping events.  Jump Olivia Jump!

Here's Emma patiently waiting her turn.

I guess she jumps like a bunny.  But she had a blast.  Both girls had a blast.  They talked my ear off when I got home from work.  I was so proud of Marc for remembering to take pictures too so we could share.
