Play Ball

Tonight was the first official T-ball game.  The kids started off with a warm up of catch.  Nice throw Olivia!  Great form Emma.

Quick team strategy meeting with the coaches.  Look at all of those kids...there are 13 total on the team.  Marc is doing really well with 13 four and five year olds.  It's tough at times, but I'm really impressed with his patience :-)
Our team was up to bat first.  Olivia was the first one up.  She hit the ball right away...look at that, her eyes never left the tee.  Nice hit Olivia!
Can you tell who the youngest player on our team is?  This was a normal site.  Marcus didn't know what to do with himself.  He kept our team and the other team entertained.  When he was on second base after batting I caught him doing high fives and chatting away with a kid from the opposite team.  I don't think this kid is going to be a wall flower.
Emma's up to bat.  Nice hit!  We've got some pretty strong hitters on our team and our girls are among the best of them!
Here's Marcus in the outfield trying really hard to pay attention.
Emma demonstrating "ready position".  She's a natural!  This girl knows how to follow directions.
Way to hit the ball Marcus!  What a slugger!
Here are the only 3 girls on the team...Olivia, Kaydin and Emma.  These three stick together pretty tight.
Quick shot of our three.  Thanks for cooperating with me guys :-)
Our team is very aggressive.  When the other team hit the ball, every one of our players went running for it.  Marc said it's hard to know what to do.  He loves the hustle and aggressiveness, but doesn't want anyone to get hurt.  They all did great!
Go Marcus Go!  It was a ton of fun.  We've got 9 more games left...we have 2 a week.  This is a great group of kids...should be a great season!

Sprinkler Time!

Earth Day

The girls have an assignment to write a sentence about what they did for Earth Day today.  It worked out pretty well since we started planting the garden this morning.  Look at those two hard at work!

Emma has the hoe making nice rows for the potatoes, onions and garlic we planted.

Leave it to Tucker and Marcus to find a garden snake.  Tucker found it and Marcus ran up to him and said "What do you have there little buddy?"  Then he proceeded to freak his sisters out by picking it up!  It actually freaked his dad out a little too :-)

Marcus even put up the pinwheels to be sure the birds stay away.

Olivia is making sure the ground is level. She helped me plant the garlic and onions and Emma and Marcus helped Marc plant potatoes.  More to come as the garden really gets going :-) Oh...Emma's sentence was, I planted potatoes and Olivia's did two sentences...We planted a garden. and The potatoes were red. Happy Earth Day!

Olivia's Birthday Cake

Olivia made this beautiful birthday cake this morning.  The "Glitter it up!" box holds all of her markers, paints and other craft stuff that she used to make this.  She said it's her cake and wanted me to take her picture and put it on my computer to share with my friends :-)  Funny how these kids have caught on to this blog thing.  They really like to share their adventures with all of you!

While Mom's Away

Marc has Friday's off.  Yesterday he decided to make some mud for the kids to play in...

Well, not really, he took the rototiller to the new garden area to get ready to plant this year.  Whose that hiding back there and why are your boots in your hand???

Wow!  You sure are muddy!

Nice pose Emma.

Not sure why he's crying...this kid loves to be muddy!  Emma said he just didn't want his picture taken.  I only saw the muddy clothes and boots all over the front porch when I got home.  All three kids were squeaky clean and in PJs before dinner :-)  The garden area looks amazing!  Can't wait to start planting!

Emma quickly takes the lead!

If we are keeping score of lost teeth, Emma just pulled ahead and is now winning 4 to 2.  You may remember a few posts back when she lost her first tooth (there's a video and all).  Well she had her 2nd loose tooth but during spring break I noticed the permanent tooth was already in behind it.  So I called the dentist and they said bring her in.  The result...3 TEETH PULLED!!!  OUCH!  She did so well...I think it was harder on me than it was on her.  What a trooper.  I was amazed at how quickly they pulled them out.  I knew the loose one would come out quick but couldn't believe the other two.  Well, looks like the tooth fairy scores tonight!  What a brave girl our little Emma is!

Here it is!

Mama got a NEW CAR!

2012 Jetta...it's diesel and gets AWESOME gas mileage (I was averaging 45mpg today)!  It is even Blue tooth equipped so now I can "legally" talk on the phone while I'm driving :-)  There are lots of great features that I don't know how to work...but give me time...I'm a quick learner.  It was time for the Durango to go and this is what we got!  I love it!  They promise it will do great in the snow...I sure hope so!

T-Ball

We signed Marcus up for T-Ball this year.  Marc got talked into being a coach.  They asked if we knew of more kids and that resulted in us signing the girls up too.  Guess that's what happens when you have 3 kids in the same age group.  So this year insted of Soccer, the girls are doing T-Ball too.  Marc had the kids out there this morning getting ready.  The first official practice is tomorrow night.

Olivia is first up to bat.  Look at that form!

Nice hit Olivia...run!

Emma's in the outfield ready for action.

Marcus is next up to bat.

It's outta here!  Nice hit Marcus

Emma's next...you'll notice we have 2 lefties and one rightie...no idea how that happened.

Nice hit Emma!  Run!

Bases are loaded...Marc's trying to get Olivia out.  I left after this so not sure how these three got to home plate.  I did overhear Marc saying he wanted to work on outfield stuff though so I have a feeling they didn't make it to home plate after this.  They all seem to love it so far...we'll see how the season goes.

Camping

The kids made what they call a tent this weekend. I thought it was pretty clever so I let Marcus sleep with the girls in the "tent" all weekend.

Emma ended up on the top bunk which is normally Olivia's bed. The next morning when I asked her why she said Marcus and Olivia wouldn't stop talking and she was tired and wanted to sleep.

Marcus and Olivia did end up falling asleep too. So cute. They were so out that my flash didn't even cause them to stir. Really they were great. I didn't have to go in one time to tell them to go to sleep. I'm sure it was fun for them to have a little slumber party.
