Day 2 of Softball

The girls were up bright and early for their 9am game.  Olivia started the day pitching to Emma.

She had a great game!

The girls had to win every game to stay in the tournament.

I just love watching them play.

They won their first game!  Then we had a small break for lunch.

After lunch the girls started to warm up for their next game of the day.  Marcus was a big help getting them ready to play.

Pitchers and catchers...isn't the background so cool.

A little father son time throwing the football.

The girls are waiting patiently for their next game.

Game on..Coach Marc turning in the line up.

Emma is our first batter.

Go Emma.

A hit!

Nice job Emma

Olivia up to bat.

She's really gotten the hang of slap hitting this year.

Nice hit Olivia

Olivia on first...

and sliding into third...she did make it home and scored.

Emma played second base this game.

Olivia on first base again.

And she makes it to second.

and slides in at third...

up she goes running home!

Run Olivia Run!

She scores again!  We won this game too...we are still alive...next up, game 3 for the day.

There was no rest in between games 2 and 3 but the girls were ready.

More pitching for Olivia.

Emma is still smiling...she loves this!

Another nice hit by Emma...we ended up winning game 3 as well...game 4 was right away...no breaks.

It was getting really cold and windy.  Olivia and Emma got a little break in the dug out this game.

Olivia did get to pitch again but it was really hard for her to see...the sun was right in her eyes most of this inning.

She threw a little wild pitch but made it to home plate in time for the catcher to get her the ball just as the opposite team was running into home.

She's out!  Great job Olivia.  The umpire even praised her for a job well done!

Unfortunately we lost that game which meant the end of the tournament for us...however we were all so proud of these girls.  The ended up 4th in their bracket of 24 teams and they are a 14U team playing in a 16U tournament.  They really did give it their all too; there was nothing left in the tank of any of these kids.

Great job Emma, Natalie and Olivia!

Marc bought all of the girls these bows and even had "Diamonds" printed on them.

The smiles say it all.  So glad to be playing some ball again!  What a tournament!  7 games total with 4 wins and 3 losses...way to go girls!
