Awesome Field Trip

Marcus's class got to visit KHQ News today.  They started out with Leslie Lowe.  She first showed them her area where she gets all of her weather information.

Then she took them to the green screen.  What a cool area!

She took small groups and had them point to days of the week on the prompter.

It was harder than it looks.

She showed them what happens if you wear green around the green screen...

They all disappear!

So fun!

Then they got to get recorded for tomorrow morning's newscast.

They all got to say "Thank you for watching KHQ in the morning"

And a little wave...now I'll need to watch the news tomorrow morning to see if I can catch it.

They even got to sit around the anchor desk...pretty cool.

It was such a great tour.  They learned all about how news is made.  They got to go into the production rooms, control rooms, pretty much everywhere in the news studio.  It was amazing.

Such a great experience for these kids.  They were all very well behaved too.

Next we went to Mobius.  They did a hovercraft experiment.

They blew up a balloon that was hooked to a plate.

Measured the circumference to make sure it was 20 inches.

Then let go to see how far it went.  They did a small and large Styrofoam plate, a paper plate and a CD Disc.  The CD went the farthest by far.  It was a fun experiment.

Then they got to explore.  This station played music.  They can hear music playing by placing their mouths on straws and plugging their ears...pretty cool.

Ryder and Marcus playing in the sand.

They had a cool area where the kids learned all about money.

What a great day!  So glad I could join them.

Wow! What a cool adventure. The TV station and Mobius all in one day! Marcus looks like he is enjoying everything and everyone. So proud to call him Grandson!! Super glad you were able to travel with the kids. Some of my best school memories are field trips with Marc, Tracy and Kim!
