Shrimping 2017

We drove to the west side for some shrimping this weekend.  We had to wake up at 4am to get to the marina...these kids are ready!

Marcus started off driving the boat.

There were lots of friends for Marcus to hang out with...for once it isn't all girls!

Olivia and Emma were actually the only girls out of the kids.

Marc, Rocky, Raymond and Brad are ready for the day.

Family photo.

The first pull was pretty good.  Olivia loves shrimp!

One of Raymond's friends brought her boys to help.  It was nice to have another female around.

The boys each took their stations when pulling the shrimp pots up.  Rocky gets the pots, Marc hooks them to the hoist and directs the rope and Brad rolls the rope into a large garbage pail.  It works pretty well.

The shrimp are poured into a bucket.

Then when all 4 pots are pulled they all get thrown back, the bucket of shrimp gets poured on the lid and we all grab them and pull off their heads.  The heads get thrown out and the rest gets put into Ziploc bags to be separated out for each person to take their limit.

Olivia loves being on the boat.

Handsome boy.

Emma normally gets sick on the boat so she starts the day with Dramamine which makes her sleepy at first.  You may have noticed the band aide over Emma's eye, she unfortunately got hit with a croquet mallet when playing with Marcus last weekend and got 2 stitches...she's a tough girl though and it's healing well.

Captain Raymond!

Mommy getting into the action with the shrimp.

We love the water!

The Moms with the kids...the boy on the far left is Rocky's son.

Emma perked up 1/2 way through the trip.

Even Emma helped with the shrimp.

Pretty cool, right Emma?

All the kids on the boat.

Marc showed Marcus how to pull the pots up.

Then it was time to go back to the marina.  All the kids rode in the front.

Marcus came back to drive some more.

We arrived at the Port.

Boys will be boys...so much fun!

Thanks for another great shrimping trip Raymond!
