End of Select Choir

Emma and Olivia had their final performance for select choir.  It was a Japanese tale.  Both girls had lots of instrumental parts.

Emma did so well.

Olivia had a speaking part as well and did awesome!

Then they sang us their festival songs and sounded beautiful.

Such sweet girls.

Another fun year of select choir has come to an end.  Great job ladies!

3rd Grade Field Trip

The 3rd graders did their field trip at Mobius this year.  They started in the activity centers first.  Marcus made a cool car.

There was so much to do and see.

They even had an Avista demonstration of how hydro power works.  It reminded me of Emma's speech a few years ago.

Marcus is making static electricity...see how the packing peanuts rise to the man's hand.

The sand feature was a favorite.  You could change the landscape and it showed you water and mountains and how everything was formed.  Marcus even figured out by putting his hand over it he could make it rain.  It was all done with a projector but had a sensor so acted to the touch of the kids.

The next part of the trip was dissecting cow eyes.  Marcus thought this was pretty cool.

A little gross too.

He got right in there to cut off the fat first.

Here is the dissected eye.  Crazy!

Ryder and Javin's class went too.

Even Daddy showed up to say hi.  Mobius is in the same building that Marc works in now so we were close by.  Unfortunately one kid did pass out during the cow eye dissection...you can see the paramedics in the background...all was well though in the end.

We headed to Riverfront Park for some lunch.

Those crazy boys.

Then we walked around for a bit.  Riverfront Park is under heavy construction right now so we couldn't go far.

Quick Marcus Mommy selfie.

Ms. Rocchi's 3rd Grade Class.

Hi Marcus.

Marcus and his friend Rowdy.

Another class photo...

This is the "silly" picture...apparently Marcus's silly face is a serious face.

We ran into Javin one last time.

Thanks for letting me tag along Marcus.

5th Grade Track Meet

This morning was the 5th grade track meet.  Here are some of the girls from Emma and Olivia's class.

Emma ran the 100.  She won her heat race and ended up placing 4th overall in the finals.  She won 1st in the javelin though.

Olivia ran the 200.  She won her heat race and placed 1st overall in the final.  She also did the long jump but didn't place.

I only got to see their heat races and then I was off to Marcus's field trip downtown.  Great job girls.

More Softball

We had a game in Springdale last night.  We started out the evening watching the Springdale Varsity Softball team practice for state.  They were pretty good and fun for the girls to see.

Candy watched with the kids.

Warming up...Emma looks good.

Daddy (coach) putting "war paint" on Olivia.

Olivia is ready!

Emma up to bat.

Olivia up to bat.

Olivia in with a run.

Emma got to play catcher.

Look how grown up she is...so different from t-ball days when the gear didn't fit.

She looks so professional.

Nice catch Emma.

Look at that stance.

Throwing back to the pitcher...so fun.

Olivia played first base and had some great plays.

That's a wrap...we won 28-9.  Nice game Mud Dogs!

3rd Grade Track Meet

Today was a beautiful day for the 3rd grade track meet.  Chattaroy Elementary was bused to Riverside Elementary to compete.

They started out with some stretching.

Marcus ran the 200.

This is the heat races...they are off.

As they round the corner Marcus is starting to lead.

He won his heat race so on to the finals.

Ready for the finals.

Marcus had to race his good friend Justin...Marcus is in the lead!

Marcus pulls away.

Go Marcus Go!

Marcus won the 200!

Nice job Justin and Marcus...Justin took 2nd.

Marcus also did the high jump.  Here he is making his approach.

Jump!

Nice Job....he clears it!

Great work Marcus.

These are the final 5 boys for the high jump.

Marcus decided to take his final jump from the other side since he's a lefty.

Here he comes.

And he jumps...he scratched but did an amazing job all around!

Marcus got either 4th or 5th, Tyler got either 4th or 5th and Justin got 3rd.

Last was the relay.  Marcus and Javin are in different classes this year so they were racing each other.

They are both the anchor runners.

The hand offs.

Go boys!

Emma took most of these photos while I video taped...she did an amazing job!

Push hard Marcus.

They were neck and neck the entire time.

The relay team from Ms. Rocchi's class.

Ruby wanted a funny face picture; Marcus looked a bit too serious.

I allowed the girls to miss class to help me with pictures and to cheer their brother on.  Bree got to help with the track meet.

Thanks for helping girls!  Marcus's class ended up placing 2nd overall out of 4 teams.  Not too bad!
