Last week Marcus attended a football camp. The girls went on Tuesday and Thursday since they had softball Monday and Weds. They were good sports about sitting in the 100 degree heat while their brother played football. The camp was supposed to be for grades 1-3 but ended up being 1-7. Marcus was one of the smallest kids out there! Here he is throwing the football to the quarterback with the help of his coach. Water was very important...it was seriously 100 degrees the entire week! At the end of each day they played a flag football scrimmage. I was impressed by the big boys though, they really helped the little guys through the whole camp and were also very encouraging...that was nice to see. The camp was run by the Spokane Shock; our local Arena Football Team. In the group photo, the big guy in the back was from the YMCA which is how we found this camp. Overall it was a good experience; Marcus enjoyed it. The kids each got a t-shirt and football. The Shock players signed the balls for the kids. Marcus's favorite coach was Jabin Sambrano. He actually played college ball for University of Montana! Go Griz! He is originally from California and lives there in the off season. He was super nice and encouraging to Marcus.
