Hoopfest 2015

We started early Saturday morning with an 8:30 game.  Emma, Lexie and Olivia were first to arrive. Our 2015 Hoopfest team...Kaydin, Lexie, Olivia and Emma. The supporters...Marcus and Cruz. First game went well.
Ryan and Marc coached the girls again this year. It was hot early. Emma was the point guard. Great defense girls. Kristin found these great fans, they sprayed water on the girls too!  They were life savers. The girls won their first game!
Then we walked down to the Avista building to escape the heat...it was seriously 102 degrees. The coaches showed the girls some plays before their next game.
11:30 was game time...the boys got some donut holes. Stay hydrated...so hot! Unfortunately they lost their second game which meant we were there for a third which was at 6:30 p.m. So we let the kids cool off in the fountain. We had dinner in the mall and the girls spotted the shoe...too cute. Then Back to the court...these girls are ready. Olivia was on fire this game. Olivia even got to shoot a free throw. She made it!  Nice Olivia! Little Emma...she can play.
Olivia made another shot at the buzzer. And they won!
I think Olivia was our MVP. So happy...so now we come back for another 8:30 a.m. game. Our girls thanked the court monitors who were at the court all day in the 102+ heat.
Our group...Marcus up front, Emma, Olivia, Lexie, Kaydin, Cruz in the middle and Marc, Michael, Tracie, Kristin, Ryan in back...what a fun group!

Day 2 was a rough one, a very physical game and hot early again..it was already 80 degrees at 8:30 in the morning! Last cheer...we ended up with a loss so we were done. Fun experience.  Can't complain, these kids played hard...we were so proud. Marcus was a great sport the entire time...he didn't get in trouble once this weekend!  Thanks for your support Marcus! We walked over to see the big boys play.  I just love our city.  So pretty.

What a great event for our city!  I just love Hoopfest...can't wait till next year!
