Happy 8th Birthday

Olivia and Emma turned 8 today! This was a tough one for me.  I had an idea of what I was going to get them and it was going to be a quick run during my lunch hour (as usual it was all last minute).  Then this morning they had a great idea of what they wanted.  They rarely ask for anything so of course I really wanted to deliver.  They wanted American Girl Doll accessories...not clothes, but accessories (camping tent was one specific request).  That unfortunately would not be a quick run during my lunch hour.

I worked all day and racked my brain.  After work I dashed to Target, bought presents, ice cream and eggs (I still had to make the brownies they requested...just call me last minute Mommy).

I also dashed to Pizza Hut for their requested dinner.  Then dashed to get them from their after school daycare (Marc had an unscheduled flat tire so I was on my own for all of this).  When I arrived at the school, they were wearing these beautiful crowns their teacher had made for them.  They were super excited to see the presents when they got home...I think they 1/2 wondered if there would be any :-)  Olivia even said "We do get presents today?"  That is how sweet these two are; they wouldn't have even whined or cried if I didn't have time to get them something.

Daddy finally made it home and they tore into their presents.

I found each of them a sleep over doll set (just the right size for their American Girl dolls).  Each has a blow up bed with sleeping bag, a fake DVD (case and disc!), popcorn, sleeping mask, flashlight and diary.  I also bought each doll a pair of shoes.  It was a hit!  They were so excited!  Mommy scores!!!  :-)

I quickly made brownies and threw them in the oven while we ate pizza.  I let the girls lick the spoon...Olivia sure loves being silly.

Happy Birthday Emma!

Happy Birthday Olivia!

The girls wanted to give a great big Thank You (their idea) to everyone that wished them a Happy Birthday today.  You are all awesome!  It really made their day.
