Bowling Birthday

The girls were invited to a Bowling Birthday party by one of the boys from school.

As you can see, they were the only girls invited...the only other girl is the birthday boy's little sister.

They fit right in though.  I made a comment to the birthday boy's Mom that the girls were worried they would be the only girls there.  The Mom said, "yes, but all the boys really like them"...I think we might be in trouble with these two.

It ended up being a blast.  The girls were pretty good at bowling...I think we might have to try this bowling thing again soon.

Gabefest

Ryan and Marc played in the 5th annual Gabefest this year.  It is a 2 on 2 basketball tournament played in the memory of Ron's (center) son Gabe.  The tournament is put on by Ron's family and all proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House...great cause!

The kids had lots to do.  There were chickens to play with after all.  The girls loved that.

The games started around 10am.  The first game was pretty physical.

The boys did very well but unfortunately lost their first game.  It was a close one though and the guys they played against were professionals...one played football for the Minnesota Vikings!

This was the official cheering section..Marcus, Olivia, Emma, Cruz and Kadin.

Cruz wants to do everything Marcus does...cute.

The girls got into the basketball action too.

Their game got a little physical as well.

Nice shot Olivia!

They played a little 2 on 2 as well.  They had a blast!

Then they cooled off with snow cones.

There was even roasted pig!  Oh My!

The hammock was lots of fun.

Then game 2 for the boys.  This time Marc and Ryan played Ron and his brother-in-law, Frank.

It was pretty physical too...all in good fun :-)

The house was right along the river so the kids decided to cool off.

What a great set up.

Fun times for everyone!

Even Richie Frahm, a Gonzaga alumni, made an appearance and Ron's team got to play against him.

The big boys cooled off too...what a great event for a great cause.  Thanks for inviting us Ron...we'll be sure to be there next year too!

Lake Time

It was HOT outside yesterday so when Chad called us and invited us to hang out on the lake with him we said YES!  This is the first time out on the lake this summer.  The kids were loving it.

It was just Chad with our family this trip...thanks for having us Chad!

Marc and Marcus were first out on the tube.

Look at those smiles.

Then it was Mommy and the girls...weeeee....

Marcus showed us all of his tricks.  He did lots of flips; I did get some video of that.

Our little lake girl...she is always so tan in the summer!

Emma stayed in the front of the boat most of the time...I think she loves the wind in her face :-)

Chad took a turn on the tube with little Marcus.

Then Chad showed us his wake boarding skills.

We had a lot of breaks and jumped into the lake often.

Overall it was a great day at the lake!

Children's Pavilion

The festival had an amazing Children's Pavilion.  We went there to get faces painted.  This is the artist that painted Emma's face.

She wanted a unicorn...pretty good.

Marcus wanted a spider.

Cool.

Olivia wanted a ladybug.

It matches her earrings!  Cute.

The kids also made hats.  Then we took a break for snow cones.

Then back to the Children's Pavilion...they wanted to paint.

Marcus painted this awesome picture.

Olivia was all sunshine and rainbows.

Emma is always creating smiles.

Love it!

They made cards and bracelets and necklaces.  There was so much to do!

They even got balloon animals.  Those white things are gourds.

They got to paint the gourds.

They were hollow with a hole just right for birds to live in.

They already had a design, the kids just painted it.

They were all very serious about it.

They turned out beautiful!  What a great day...lots to see and do!  So much fun!
