Memorial Day Weekend...Sunday

Emma and I spent a lot of Saturday putting a puzzle together.  Marc decided to lend a hand on Sunday Morning.

We did end up completing it before starting our Sunday.  It was for ages 6+ but it was hard!

The boys went back into the mountains to see if they could find some mushrooms again (we came back empty handed the day before...sadly they didn't find any on Sunday either).

The girls and I stuck around with Beth. The kids found these adorable hats that Beth made and she said they could each have one. Then the girls found the yarn and suddenly special requests were made. Emma wanted pink; Olivia wanted purple. Beth finished Emma's before the boys got home and then worked on Olivia's.

While Beth finished the hat, we went out on the boat to do some fishing. Emma was super excited.

Marcus was too!

Uncle Carl showed the girls how to bait the hook while Marcus stuck with his Daddy in front.

Emma was serious about this fishing stuff. She claimed her pole right away and even reeled it in!

Olivia had a lot of fun and helped everyone. She was a little silly too.

Marc caught the fist (and only) fish. Marcus thought that was pretty cool and had no problem holding it for everyone to see.

Another silly photo. Poor Marcus had a bit of a rough time on the boat. He just wanted to catch fish at a rapid pace and didn't like the waiting part...especially because he had to be quiet and not move around so much. It is pretty hard to be on a fishing boat at age 4.

Emma was a very patient fisherman though. She really wanted to catch a fish...I wish she would have...maybe next time!

We got back to the house and Marcus showed off the prize once again. A little side note to this post; we missed the duck races...we thought they were at 3pm but the ended up being at 1pm. Otherwise you would have seen the action there too. Oh well, next time.

The kids were ready for a fire so they helped with the fire wood. Here is Olivia's finished hat...so cute!

Such teamwork!

Time to roast marshmallows. By Sunday these kids were experienced!

Smores! Yummy!

Marcus was a little bit tired by this point.

Emma loves smores! We had a great time in Conconully. It was very relaxing...just what we needed this weekend. Hope everyone else had a nice Memorial Day too!

Memorial Day Weekend Getaway...Saturday

We spent the weekend visiting Marc's Uncle Carl and Aunt Beth in Conconully.  We just had to get a quick picture by the old Post Office on our way to the park.

Emma showed us how to hang upside down.

Olivia worked really hard on the monkey bars and finally skipped them!

Marcus raced little cars.

This is such a great playground at the State Park.  It's just a hop, skip and jump away from Carl and Beth's house too.  We spent a lot of time here throughout the weekend.

After the park we decided to drive up into the mountains.  We really wanted to find mushrooms so Marcus had his "map" and said he could lead us there!

The first stop left us empty handed but there was this cool meadow to play in with great rocks perfect for pictures.

Olivia went exploring all around.  She was searching for wild flowers.

We decided to drive up further; we almost got to the top of the mountain when we ran into snow!

Look at Olivia; flip flops and snow...Marcus is in sandals too!  Emma is the only one who looks like she dressed for the weather.  It was actually 50 some degrees; but there was snow!

Emma was really into throwing snowballs.  She actually nailed me in the head and right here you see her getting her dad.  We told her she needs to work on throwing the baseball like this...she had some pretty good throws!

On our way up the mountain Marc spotted something.  He thought it was either a car or a plane.  So we stopped on the way back down so he could check it out.  He had to hike down the side of the mountain pretty far.  This is using my zoom.  It ended up being an old truck.

He ran into a lot of stickers on the way back up.  He said it was cool though so guess it was worth it.

When we got to town we went to the Community Hall where Emma and Olivia got their faces painted.  Emma wanted a rose.

Olivia wanted a Rainbow.

Beautiful.

Uncle Carl bought each of the kids a duck for the duck races on Sunday.

Then it was ice cream time!  Yummy!

Emma Catches

Wednesday night Emma finally got to catch.  The kids actually played a real game too.  They have been just hitting and everyone runs the bases.  Wednesday night there were actual outs and points!  Our kids didn't really get it at first (I think we were playing a much older team).  Unfortunately Emma was the first to get out and she was very sad.  She never got out again after that though!  It was a fun night and a great learning experience for our kids.

Marcus Catches

Marcus got his turn at catching last night.  He was so excited.

He did a pretty good job; I had to stand with him to help him see the ball.  That helmet is pretty big for him and he couldn't see a thing.  Pretty cute though if I do say so myself :-)

Official Team Picture

We received the professional team photo last night at t-ball.  It turned out so great!

We also had this photo taken of our three little sluggers.  We opted to do this instead of individual pictures this year.  I LOVE IT!  I'm so glad Marc thought of it and the photographer agreed to do it.  So cute!

Yard Sale

We attempted to do a one day yard sale yesterday.  The kids got up early to help make signs.

Aren't those the prettiest Yard Sale signs you've ever seen?  Unfortunaltey we didn't have too many customers yesterday so it has turned into a weekend sale...we have sold a couple more items today so I guess it was worth it.
