We decided to try raised gardens this year. Marc built the boxes a few weeks ago and the weather was finally nice enough for us to actually plant today. Marc got a dump truck full of dirt (ironically at the same time Olivia and Marcus were filling their dump trucks this morning...maybe that's why they were doing that??).
We put newspaper down and Marc used Jack's tractor to fill the boxes with dirt. The girls had the job of filling their buckets and piling dirt on the next newspaper layers in the next boxes...it was windy so this helped keep the newspaper down while Marc got the next load of dirt.
It was very helpful and kept them quite busy too. They loved every minute.
Marcus was taking his nap during majority of this which was probably a good thing. The moment he woke up he was right in the middle of all that dirt!

Here is a sneak peek. We did plant them tonight too but they pretty much look like this. I'll take pictures as things start to grow.

Hope everyone else had as productive of a Saturday as we did! I love that the weather is so nice! I wonder what we'll tackle tomorrow!
