Portland Day 2

The girls actually got to sleep in on Day 2!  Emma caught the entire game and Olivia got to pitch 3 innings.  I tried to get pictures of Olivia to Emma but could never get both to focus in at the same time.  I also forgot to charge my camera battery so that could have contributed to the focus issues.  The girls lost their second game which cut our weekend short.  However they still played well, Olivia batted .500 and lead the team!  Emma played solid at cather and impressed everyone.  We are trying to qualify for Nationals which is at the end of July in Huntington Beach.  We are now waiting to see if our overall performance allows us to get a bid there...fingers crossed!  I'd love to go back to the beach!

Team dinner

We had a free Friday night so did team dinner. I found a steak house within walking distance from the hotel. It was a little slow getting our food but overall worked out well.

Another weekend in Portland...day 1

The girls competed in a PGF National Qualifier tournament.  They faced a tough Bullets team the first day.  The tournament is set up as immediate bracket play so 2 losses and you are out.  Emma caught most of the game but did get to play a little bit of short stop too.  She's the main catcher this year so a bit of a change from school ball.  Olivia played first base on day one. They only had one game on Friday and unfortunately lost.  They fought hard though!

Angel’s friends

The girls had Angels practice in the Tri-Cities Weds evening and then had to head to Portland for the weekend. We let the Spokane girls (Kynlea, Natalie, Emma and Olivia) drive on their own. It was a bit nerve racking for me but they made it safely. They stayed the night with one of their teammates after practice and then Kynlea and Natalie’s parents came through on Thursday and drove them to Portland. We joined on Friday. They shared some fun photos of their time together.
