Softball in Richland

The girls had their first official club Diamonds Softball tournament this weekend.  Day 1 was black uniforms.  Pretty sharp girls.

Marcus and I missed the 1st 2 games due to the chef competition but we made it for their 8pm game Saturday evening.  It was cold but I guess the morning and afternoon games were colder.

Olivia up to bat...sort of cool they got to play under the lights.

Emma up to bat.

Emma makes it to 2nd...

Olivia at bat again.

Looking good Olivia!

Olivia on 2nd!

Emma up again...they won this game and were so fun to watch!

Day 2 was white jerseys.  Emma played in right field.

Marcus was a great support to his sisters.

Olivia played 2nd base.

Nice load Olivia!

And she swings.

Looking good Olivia...love to watch her play.

Emma at bat.

Love watching her too.  They played a game at 10am, noon and had a 3rd game at 4pm.

Olivia and Emma got to be team captains at the 4pm game.

They look so cute!

Emma at bat again.

Bunt!

Nice swing Emma.  They ended up winning 4 out of 6 games (I saw all the wins :-)).  It was a great first tournament.  It wasn't a trophy tournament; it was just a sort of "warm up" tournament to start the season and see where everyone was.  I'm so excited for the rest of this season!  Go Diamonds!

Future Chef

Marcus was picked to compete in the Future Chef competition.  He got a shirt, apron and chef hat!

Some of his football buddies were also there.

The whole group...all but one were from Chattaroy Elementary.

Marcus got a mentor to help him make his recipe.

He puts on his gloves.

And prepares his dish.

Great Job Marcus.

Here he is at his presentation of his dish.

Marcus made a shrimp noodle dish.  The theme of the competition was Asian food and Marcus picked this meal.  He had to submit the recipe and then he was picked to compete.  They had to make one main dish for the presentation dish.

And then 50 samples for all to taste.

Great job boys!

There were 3 judges.  They asked each kid a question and tasted their dish.

Then we all got to sample...it was yummy!

Marcus got one of the runner up prizes.  A cool pan and lots of cooking things.

His two buddies too 1st and 2nd...those football players sure know how to cook!

Great job kids!  What a fun event!

Math is Cool

Marcus participated in the Math is Cool competition on Friday.  The kids were bused to St George's School at 2:30pm.  Parents got to come around 6:15pm for their dinner break.  Marcus was all smiles with his buddies.

This year's team shirt color was lime green...easy to spot!

Parents got to watch the team event.  Marcus, Nolan and Justin were a team.   They played against 3 different schools...they won one round out of the 3.  They gave it their all and were fun to watch.

Look at all those kids!  What a great experience!
