The high school kids put on a camp for the elementary kids...here are the girls...

here are the boys.  It was a 3-day camp and they all had a blast!

Solar System Project

Emma and Olivia had the option to do an extra credit project for science.  They are studying the solar system.  The instructions were to make a solar system, label each planet clearly and tell 3 facts about each.  Emma painted Styrofoam balls hung her planets in a box.

She used the front of the box to note her 3 facts about each planet.  She found this idea on the Internet and brought it to life.  

Olivia did a 3-D poster for hers.  She painted all of the Styrofoam balls, we cut them in half and glued them to a foam board.  She drew the orbit lines with a paint pen.

She just had separate note cards for her 3 facts on each planet.

They came up with this all on their own and I helped them put it all together.  Out of 25 kids only 5 did this extra credit and according to the girls there were no 2 alike.  We are so proud of them.  They are such great students...always striving for the best.

Lots of Snow

This has been one snowy winter.  The kids have missed 3 days of school this year so far.  

It feels like the snow will never stop!  It is quite pretty though.

Valentines

This year the girls had an assignment to build their own Valentine's box.  Emma did a lot of research and came up with a Sweethearts Box...

Olivia also made all of her own Valentine's for her classmates...she made 27 of these!  I did help a little but she did most of it.  So talented.

Not to be left out, Marcus wanted to make a box too.  His is a monster box...see the eyes and the heart shaped mouth full of candy...he came up with it all on his own!  So creative.

They were all a big hit at school.  Olivia's won for funniest because of the kisses and hogs saying.  Emma got runner up but her teacher did say if she voted Emma would have won for most creative.  Happy Valentine's Day!
