Daddy came to school!

Marc asked the kids' teachers if he could come do a demonstration on Electricity and Safety.  They were so excited about it they scheduled it right away!  So yesterday was the day.  Marc and Ryan first ate lunch with the Kindergartners and then started their presentation in the Kindergarten classroom.  They taught them about things like calling 811 before you dig and not flying kites around power lines.  Marc said it was a great presentation.  The pictures are of Marcus' class, so cute.  After they talked to Marcus' class they went across the hall and did a presentation for the girls' 2nd grade class.  The kids came home and told me all about it...they really listened!

Marcus drew this picture during the after school program yesterday; it really stuck with him!  He was so proud to have his Daddy and "Coach" Ryan come talk at his school.  He was king for the day!  Thanks Daddy and Ryan!  What a great day for the kids!

Hunter in training

Marc took Marcus on a hike down the road and back up through our property.
Look Dad...what do you think this is?

Pretty cool, don't you think Dad.

Am I holding it right?

I think I see something.

Yep...got it!

Little Workers

Emma helped Daddy clear out some trees on the back of the property.

Marcus helped too!  What good little workers!

Not to be forgotten...Olivia helped Mommy clean the house...we didn't take pictures of that though.

Marcus' First Game

We woke up this morning, had a nice breakfast and headed to the gym for Marcus' first game.  Daddy made sure his shoes were on tight.

Ironically Marcus' team is the same color as the girls.  We honestly didn't plan that!  He's ready to play!  He admitted he was a little bit nervous...but excited.

He got right in there for warm ups.

A quick meeting with Coach Dunham and Coach Nick to let the boys know what to expect.  This is a team of Kindergartners and 1st graders.

They matched up with the other team.

Marcus dribbling the ball down the court.

He took defense seriously.

He never let his man go...he was a bit confused between offense and defense though; he ran right to his man at all times; offense or defense...he also tried to guard him while on offense...it's a learning curve and only the first game.  He'll get it eventually...it was pretty cute and he was so proud.

He got to throw it inbounds to his teammates...great job Marcus!

Quick team meeting at the end.

Olivia was so sweet.  She went up and congratulated all the boys.  Such a great sister showing her support.  I am loving basketball so far...it's so fun to watch these little ones learn the game.  Can't wait to see them learn and have fun!

Girls' First Game

The kids are playing basketball this year...tonight was the girls' first game.  Here are the starting 5, Cadence, Chloe, Gracie, Emma and Olivia.

They start by getting matched up to another player on the opposite team.

And play begins...here's little Emma dribbling up the floor.  She's a quick little thing.

They are not allowed to steal in 2nd grade but they are all ready for the rebound!

They don't keep score either but we did score a lot of baskets...Olivia scored too!

Here's Olivia dribbling down the court...go Olivia!

More rebounding...Olivia was a great rebounder...she would get it and shoot it right back up.  We were so proud.

Emma was so quick...she never really tried to shoot, but she made some really nice passes to the bigger girls.  We were very proud of her too.  Everyone kept saying "she is so cute!"  I think she might have been the smallest but quickest one out there.

There she is again...quick little Emma dribbling down the court.

They had a blast.  They were both very proud of themselves and said they love basketball!  Can't wait to see more...Marcus' first game is tomorrow morning so stay tuned for that!

Happy Valentine's Day Too!

Missing Tooth

I was just thinking Marcus sure hasn't lost many teeth; only 2 so far!  Last weekend he finally lost his 3rd and he's working on a 4th right now.  He was pretty proud.  What a tough boy!  The tooth fairy finally came to visit Marcus.

Championship Weekend!!!

Raymond came over this weekend to watch our beloved Seahawks play in the Super Bowl!  He brought the kids lots of gifts of course...one was their very own digital camera.  You can even load the pictures into the computer...they had a lot of fun with that as you can see...

Smile Uncle Raymond...love the jersey!

Smile Marcus!

So pretty Emma.

Pretty Olivia too!

Olivia took a picture of the Super Bowl score!  Nice work Seahawks!  WOOHOO!!!

What a spectacular weekend!!!

YAY! SNOW!

We finally got snow!  We also got some sunshine!  The kids have been waiting for this!

Olivia wanted to snowboard.  She improvised with our little sled and went down the plow hill.

I of course saw an opportunity for group photos.  They all cooperated.

I LOVE these kids!

Emma tried to build a snowman but the snow was too powdery.

Here is Olivia trying to snowboard.

Marcus gave it a try too.  He pushed the "board" up the hill.

Emma decided to take a rest.

Hi Emma!

Here is Marcus on the pretend snowboard.

Emma just did it the old fashioned way...sledding down the hill.

The kids stayed out for several hours before I finally convinced them to come in for lunch.  It's so nice that they still love to play in the snow and they all play so well together...oh the memories that are being made!
