Trampoline Party

We went to a place called Sky High for the birthday party. It is the coolest place! It has trampolines set up everywhere! There is a dodge ball area on trampolines for the big kids too. They even have an area where the kids can do flips into foam squares. This is a place for all ages! There were tons of teens there...it was awesome! We hung out in the 8 and under area.

This is the birthday girl, Kaydin. Her daddy works at AVISTA with Marc. Kaydin is actually going to play t-ball with us this year so you'll be seeing more of her. We were celebrating her 5th birthday.

Marcus found this cool Bat mobile. He just loved sitting on it.

The kids had cake pops after a feast of pizza. Yummy!

This was the present area. There were tons of couches all around the place for the parents to lounge around. Here's majority of the group. It was the best place. Our kids were so tired when we left.

Gonzaga!

We had a busy day yesterday.  We started the morning at the 1st Annual Bike Swap looking for a bike for me...I'm the only one in the family that doesn't have one!  We didn't have much luck there; we just weren't sure of what was a good deal.  After that we went to lunch at Taco Bell.  We had a birthday party on the schedule next but were an hour early for that so had to find a time filler.  The party just happened to be right by my old stomping grounds...Gonzaga!  We decided to show the kids where Mommy went to school.

We started in the Martin Center; this is where I used to watch the Bulldogs play basketball.  I actually did my work study in this building...it was perfect; I checked people's IDs and let them through the doors my Freshman year and by my Junior year I was in charge of all the work study students so I just made sure everyone was at a post and then I worked out or played Intramural Volleyball :-)

Next we ran into a Lacrosse game.  We stood and watched the teams warm up...the kids were quite interested in Lacrosse...they really haven't seen a sport like that yet.

We also had to pose by the new Gym where the Bulldogs now attract thousands of loyal fans.  The kids thought the bulldog was pretty cool.  As we were leaving I asked them if anyone wanted to be a Bulldog someday.  The girls said yes...Marcus wasn't so sure.  I think he was a little turned off by the fact that they didn't have football.  He seemed to be more interested in becoming an Eastern Eagle like his Daddy...that's okay by me :-)

This is Spring?

Every morning the kids pile into my car, we drive to the top of the driveway and wait for the bus. Here we are this morning...
Around 6:50 am...normally we can see the bus coming at this time and the girls are piling out of the car to hop on the bus.

Around 6:55 this morning...is the bus coming? Marcus is eating this up...he just loves having his sisters around.

Now it's about 7 am...I'm watching my phone for the school to call...will we see a bus soon? Will I be late for work today? OR will it be a.....

SNOW DAY??? (or at the very least a 2 hour late start day)...

This was our view up the road to where the bus is coming from. Believe it or not, the bus came about 1 minute after 7am! Even the bus driver said she was expecting at least a 2 hour delay but never got the call. Pretty amazing we got dumped on this hard at the end of March! Guess I shouldn't be surprised though...we also heard snow tires can stay on until April 16th...so I'm guessing we are to expect more of this stuff? The kids thought it was cool and we all made it to where we needed to be, so all is well here!

Leprechaun Trap

Yesterday the girls celebrated St Patrick's Day at school.  They had an assignment to make a Leprechaun Trap.  They came up with the ideas on their own for the most part.  Emma took a puzzle box we had that has a slide top.  She decorated the inside of one compartment with a rainbow and pot of gold to entice the leprechaun and the other side had a sparkly shamrock.  She put a block under the box top and set it up.  The idea was for the leprechaun to want the gold and as he passed the block to get it he would knock it over and the lid would shut down and trap him.

Olivia's was a Kleenex box.  We stapled cardboard to the inside and attached a paperclip across the opening.  Then she decorated it with a sign pointing to the inside reading "GOLD".  Her idea was he would go in there searching for the gold but once he got in, he couldn't push his way out...it only opens one way!  Pretty clever.

The end result was after first recess their room was decorated with sparkles.  After gym and music class there were little dots all over the room.  And after last recess they came back to find leaves all over the room.  Unfortunately nobody caught the leprechaun.  But the kids did wake up to some gold coin chocolates this morning...so maybe it's a good thing that little leprechaun was too smart for those traps :-)

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone!

Date Nights

Lately we've been having some Mommy/Daddy time.  Thank goodness for our good friends, the Starks, for offering to babysit.

Our first adventure was a baby shower believe it or not.  It was a Mardi Gras theme shower.  The parents-to-be were actually the hosts and they provided lots of yummy food and adult beverages too (the mom-to-be obviously didn't drink).  It was definitely a different twist to a baby shower...but it was a lot of fun.  It was a good excuse for a date night!

Then last night we went to Blake Shelton!  I scored tickets the same day!  I wanted to go to this but we just never got around to buying tickets.  Then a friend of mine mentioned to me yesterday that she had a friend who had 2 extra tickets...I jumped at the chance, bought her tickets, found a babysitter (once again...thanks Starks!) and Marc and I went to the concert.  It was a blast!  He was AWESOME!!!  I haven't been to a concert in over 10 years so this was a treat!  I think we are going to have to plan some more date nights soon.

Hat Day

Friday was Hat Day at school in honor of Dr Seuss's actual birthday. These were the hats of choice for the girls. Aren't they so cute?!?
