Summertime???

We wish! Literally :-) Work is closed today due to the amount of snow we got last night...the roads are horrible. The entire town is pretty much closed down. I told the kids we were staying home and they were so excited. I then told them to go get dressed...this is how I found them...
Do you think they are as tired of this snow as the rest of us? They are pretending it's summer :-) I'm just going to go with it today.

Bedtime Story

One night I went to check on the girls who were supposed to be asleep. Emma was asleep but Olivia was not. She said her babies needed a bedtime story first. She had all of her dolls and animals set up on her bed and she was reading to them.

Then she would turn the book around so they could all see the pictures.

Then she would read another page.

Then show the pictures. She's either going to be a good little Mommy or maybe a teacher. It was pretty cute, even though she was supposed to be sleeping.

Homeward Bound

Our family had to leave yesterday. Marcus and I took a short walk first thing in the morning. Marcus thought the frost on the grass was so pretty...he wanted his picture taken by them. It was a fun little walk; just a little Mommy/Marcus time.

This shows where the other bedrooms were. There are 3 bedrooms back there. The front part of this car was a family room area with another TV. There are even other bathrooms in here.

Olivia and Sophie were so sad that we were going home. The snuggled together most of the morning hanging onto every last moment together.

Marcus kept going and going...so much energy! Grami showed him the big window out the train.

Ceci and Emma stuck pretty close the entire weekend. Here they are being silly getting in their last hour of playtime.

Family Photo Time! Here we are outside the train. Isn't it cool?!?

And the grand kids in order by age...Sophie (7), Ceci (5), Olivia (4), Emma (4), Marcus (3), Gia (1), Elle (1).

Saturday Night: Round 2

We only had 2 nights to dig clams so the second night meant business. We had tags to fill; the kids could each get 15 too so we put them to work. Emma jumped right in.

I mentioned how hard it was and Emma said "I'll do it for you Mommy". So sweet.

Marcus was working pretty hard too. They really liked it. The hardest part was when the tide came in; we did everything we could to keep the water out of the kids' boots.

Olivia was actually the last kid standing in the end. She was soaked to the bone, but loving every minute of it. Look at that team work.

Daddy showed Marcus how to find the clams. Then he dug them up and Marcus grabbed them quick as could be and put them in his container.

We LOVE digging for clams!

All the kids were soaked to the bone. They immediately went to the hot tub to soak their hard working bodies after the long hard clam dig.

Then time to rest up in our great big king-sized bed. All the kids fit on that! They are watching TV with Marc. What a great time bonding with the cousins.

Saturday Morning

The place we stayed in was old railroad cars converted into a house. It was a pretty cool place. There was a spot for the kids to drive the train and there was even a button for them to push that would make train sounds. Marcus liked to drive the train.

Our family stayed in the Caboose. It was really nice. It was like a Master Bedroom complete with a King bed, a little area for the kids blow up beds and even a bathroom. Gia liked our room too...Marcus sure loves Gia.

Saturday morning the boys got busy cleaning clams. Marcus thought it was pretty cool.

He wanted to do a little taste testing too...YUCK!

While the boys worked hard cleaning the clams...it was back to the beach for the kids.

The kids played hard for most of the morning then it was back to the train for lunch.

Emma decided to take the train for a ride too.

Gia wants to know when lunch is going to be ready.

Sophie taught Olivia how to balance on the steel rails outside. Nice job Olivia!

I took the girls for a little walk around the area. We had a lot of fun.

Friday Night: Clam Digging Begins

The cousins arrived and it was back to the beach for some clam digging. Elle and Gia were ready.
Elle is happy to be there.

Auntie Tracy shows off one of the first clams.

Poppi took this clam digging seriously...he was digging holes all over the beach.
Marc was pretty serious too.

While the grown ups worked hard to get the clams the kids played on the beach.

Here are all the big kids.

Grami was in charge of watching the kids and taking them back to the house when they got cold. This is all the grand kids...Elle is hiding behind Gia.

The Beach!

We went to Ocean City this weekend for some clam digging. We arrived Friday afternoon. The first thing we did was find the beach which was just a short walk from where we were staying. The kids saw the ocean and went running.

Emma had a mission to gather some shells. She started right away and got some nice ones.

Olivia was just soaking it all in and thought this was so cool!

Marcus just hung out with Daddy and Raymond...just the boys.

Of course Marcus had to test out the water...splash!
Mommy needs a family photo...say cheese!

Olivia and Marcus learned about the tides. They screamed and ran every time the tide came in.

"WE LOVE THE BEACH!"

Hey Mom! This is cool.

What's that Marcus?

Walking along the beach. Thank goodness for Raymond...we would have never gotten this picture.

There's Uncle Raymond!

Marcus' Godfather.

This was the field we walked through to get from the house to the beach. We only did it once due to the water being quite deep in places. It was hard to walk through and we found out we could actually drive right onto the beach so opted for that route instead.
