A Little Carving

We decided to carve the pumpkins this morning. Marcus started but surprisingly didn't want to get messy. He used his spoon the entire time to clean out the seeds.

Emma started with two spoons but then decided getting dirty wasn't so bad after all.

Olivia wasn't actually interested in this project at first. When we finally got her to participate she also decided to forgo the spoon and just dig in with her hands.

The kids each told me how they wanted their pumpkins to look. Olivia even drew a picture of a cute little smiley face for me and told me that was how she wanted it.

Olivia, Emma, Marcus. Olivia wanted a smiley face, Emma wanted a scary face and Marcus started out wanting scary but by the time we got to the mouth he wanted happy.

Those little pumpkins actually had a lot of seeds! I was surprised. They have been roasted and will be eaten after naps I'm sure (I've already tested them and they are quite tasty).

Wizard of Oz

These are the official Halloween costumes. I even dressed up this year! The kids had a party at daycare and I went to work looking like this.

My friend, Crystal (the "bad" witch in the orange hat), wanted to do Wizard of Oz. She managed to get some of us to participate. As you can see we had Glinda the Good Witch, Dorothy, The Wicked Witch of the West, Scarecrow, Eddie Munster (OK, so he's not really part of our theme...but doesn't he look great), a Flying Monkey, Lion and Munchkin.

Here's Dorothy with her witches :-)

I had to share Alisha's costume. If you don't know, I work in insurance...I LOVED this costume...Flo with Progressive! What a great idea and oh so cute!

It's Almost Here...

Last night the kids wanted to show off their Halloween costumes for Poppi. I just love these pictures and had to share. They sure do love each other...melts a mother's heart :-)

More Rain Today

It pretty much rained all day yesterday. The girls got new Puzzle Books in the mail so they showed Nana all the cool stuff they can do.

Papa helped with the Puzzle Books too.

Today is another rainy day. Nana and Papa went home this morning. We decided it was definitely a day to play inside today. Olivia and Marcus were playing house downstairs. When I checked on them they had just finished with dinner and were getting ready to go dancing. Olivia put on her best dress for the occasion. She wanted me to get my camera so they could have picture time with their babies. She even posed for me.

Then Olivia set up a portrait spot, put Marcus (aka Daddy) in his chair, arranged her babies just right and 'snap' perfect family photo :-)

Tradition

It's becoming a tradition for Papa and Nana to come over in October and take the kids to the Pumpkin Patch. This weekend is the Pumpkin Patch Weekend of 2010. We woke up to rain, rain, rain...but that didn't stop us! We started out at Harvest House for the Pumpkin donuts and hot apple cider! YUM!
Then walked around a little and took a few photos.

The kids wanted to see how big they were. SO BIG!

Then we drove over to Knapp's to see the pumpkin blow out of the cannon, do a quick hay maze and pick out our pumpkins. The rain was pouring by this time so we skipped going out in the fields this year and just picked pumpkins out of the bins.

Thanks for the fun trip Nana and Papa. Even with the rain we all had a blast!

Until Next Time

We relaxed a little bit more.

The kids had a tea party with Poppi.

Marcus and Olivia took the bikes for one last spin (Olivia was a great teacher to Marcus...Grami and Poppi had the perfect bike for him and he was riding in no time!).
Grami and Poppi told us we could take it home but somehow it didn't make it to the back of the truck (Poppi...Marcus is going to call you tomorrow night to ask if you can bring it Weds...hope you have room).

We left for home just as the sun was setting behind Mt Rainier. Thanks Grami and Poppi for the great weekend!

Black and White

Marc was hunting with Poppi this whole time. I decided on Sunday the kids needed to burn some energy so we went on a walk down the road.

I always forget about black and white photos. A friend of mine (Jen) posted some black and white photos recently and it inspired me to post some too. I thought these would be prefect for black and white.

More water fun

Eventually they were all playing in the creek. There were lots of shiny rocks to find.

Olivia was sure to water all of Grami's plants too.

Of course Mommy had to try for some group photos...say cheese.

Grami provided much needed help by dangling Gumi Worms in front of them. Look at those smiles! They do love Gumi Worms! Thanks Grami!

It's tough being a boy

Marcus got off to a rough start. Just one of those things...not sure what it was but everything seemed to upset him.

So he went back inside to "regroup" in Poppi's chair. Poppi's chair makes everything better!

Then he spotted Emma in Oergel Creek and decided that looked like fun.

He was knee deep in water...it didn't matter how many times I told him not to get too wet...he just had to do it. I literally poured water out of his boots when all was said and done. He had fun! That's for sure!

Her own thing

Emma really tried to keep up with her sister.

She decided Oergel Creek would be more fun though so she moved to the back yard.

She found lots of pretty "rocks" to wash and throw into the creek.

The waterfall is shut down for the winter which allowed for a great climbing place too.
