Pretty Toes

I was cutting fingernails and toenails tonight on all kids. Olivia is always very cooperative and when I was done she kept saying "Pretty toes". I said "Yes, you have pretty toes." She said "NO! I want pretty toes!" and pointed to my painted toenails...needless to say...Olivia got some "Pretty Toes" tonight.

She was so proud!

I literally have to sit on Emma to cut her toenails and fingernails, so painting was out of the question too. She was a little curious about Olivia's though. She did compliment her on them :-)

Emma was just happy to be away from the clippers.

Memorial Day Weekend

We did a little traveling for part of the long weekend...
Can you tell where we went? Yes, the windy city of Ellensburg! Marc had to go to the West-side of the State for a little business; the kids and I made it as far as Grami and Poppi's house. It was quite windy in true Ellensburg fashion.

The girls were pretty helpful in the kitchen most of the weekend...I don't know if they did more helping or eating though :-)

Little Marcus is trying his all to catch up to those girls. Look at him hold himself up on the coffee table. We did help him up there, but I'm sure in no time he will be climbing up on his own.

Marcus got this great rattle from cousin Nikki! Thanks! He absolutely loves it...he doesn't put it down!

Emma was her goofy self...we took this picture for Kimmie to show off the Cougar spirit (notice the slippers). Go Cougs! Also, Emma has started the "why?" phase...everything we say is followed by "why?". I told her it is too early for her to start that...give us a few more months! It is pretty funny though :-) Hope everyone had a great long weekend!

Hats

Emma is definately her Daddy's daughter. Marc's been known for his crazy hats...he has many. Emma found one of his hats this morning. This is one of those from the 2002 Olympics that were in Salt Lake City. Marc actually got to be a support runner with the torch when it came through Spokane. What memories...and now more memories :-) And people wonder why I can't make it to work on time every morning...it's moments like this that I just don't want to miss.

Little Helpers

Emma and Olivia helped us plant flowers tonight.

Normally Emma gets really upset when she gets dirty, but tonight she was right in the middle of the dirt and was so proud to have diry hands.

Olivia was her usual self, cleaning up after everyone. What a good girl!

Marcus just watched and laughed. I often wonder what he is thinking. I bet he can't wait to get into that dirt.

Good Day

It was another hot one today. I'm not sure Marcus knows what to think about this heat yet...he was a little crabby today.
Emma helped Daddy most of the day, the highlight of her day was mowing the lawn. She loves lawnmowers, tractors, 4 wheelers, snowmobiles...unlike Olivia who runs away from anything that makes a loud noise.
Marc hung the hammock today. Emma was a little firecracker all day...she talked Marc's ear off and sang him many songs...it was precious.
Once Olivia felt it was safe to go outside again, she joined in the fun too.

Hot Hot Hot

It was over 90 degrees out today! The kids played outside all day at daycare and it continued on into the night. I wanted to take a picture of the whole play area...didn't Marc do a great job. It's our own playground. The kids play there every chance they get.

Afternoon Off

I got a call from daycare today that Olivia had 101.2 temp. So, I took the afternoon off with the kids. Olivia was actually much better by the time I got to her, seems to always be the case with her :-) I have a hunch she is teething, even though the doctor didn't think so yesterday. She continues to hold her jaw and ear and says it hurts, but she does not have an ear infection. Olivia has always run a low grade fever when she is teething too...so it makes sense. It was nice to have an afternoon off though. Olivia even helped me get some laundry done.

Marcus is almost sitting up on his own right now. He had a little help from the boppy this afternoon. He is really into the spinning ball toy (top pic) and his drum lately. It's so fun to watch him. I can't believe the things he's doing these days!
Emma just drew and watched "Barney" all afternoon. I think we all had a good afternoon and evening.

Happy Mother's Day

I just wanted to wish all the Moms out there a Happy Mother's Day. I don't know if you can tell by reading my blog...I LOVE BEING A MOM!!! I had a great Mother's Day just hanging out with the kids all day. The kids painted pots and planted marigolds in them and they also painted heart shaped boxes for me at daycare (thanks DeeDee!). I also got a beautiful hanging plant for my front porch from Marc and the kids this morning. It was a perfect day :-)

The Baptism

Kimmie and Raymond are Marcus' Godparents...thanks Kimmie and Raymond!
Papa, Nana, Grami and Poppi came to help Marcus celebrate his baptism too.
Perfect opportunity for a family photo :-)
The star of the day! Doesn't he look so handsome?

The Party

This weekend was Marcus' baptism. We had a little party for him on Saturday night. He got lots of great presents from everyone. The girls like his presents too :-) I even baked a cake for the occasion...it wasn't too bad either :-)

Swingset

We've been looking for a swingset for the kids. We were literally just about to buy lumber and make one when I got an email from a co-worker that was giving one away! Perfect timing!!! We had some weekend visitors to help us put it together...Marcus even got to ride on the tractor and help too.

Raymond did a lot of manual labor digging the dirt and putting this thing together. He was a trooper though and we definatley appreciated it. Papa also put in his time...thanks Dad!

When the girls woke from their naps, it was ready for them to try it out. They started with the swings...

Then on to the slide. They love it! I'm sure there will be many memories formed on this. Can you believe we got this for free?
Marcus is still too little for the swingset, so he just observed and hung out with Nana & Papa.
